Hi everybody I've been thinking about getting a shoulder strap to use with my 5d Mark II and I have heard a lot of good things about the upstrap being extremely slip proof but I was wondering how comfotable is it there are a lot of great things said about it but not much said about its comfort.
Thanks, Alan

I used them briefly. They're definitely shoulder straps, and they're comfortable as shoulder straps because you don't need to lift your shoulder to keep the camera on - it stays in place. It would not be comfortable to wear on your neck. I sold mine because they were almost too sticky when I used them for weddings, and I would have a hard time getting the camera off of my shoulder quickly... and I also didn't care to have the big rubber block weighing down all the time.

I used one for a while, then stopped using it. It definitely stays in place relative to my shirt, but the weight pulls the shirt off the shoulder, which could result in the camera falling off.

I've since gone to a Domke gripper strap. I also use a Canon handstrap at the same time.

Thank you for the response could you tell me does the domke do a good job of staying on the shoulder and how comfortable is it as a neck strap?
Thanks,Alan

Domke has soft rubber rubber embedded in the fabric. Stays on shoulder, does not dig into shoulder through shirt like upstrap. I've used a lot of straps, this is best for me so far.

Been using the UPSTRAP for a few years. It doesn't dig into my shoulder and it sure as heck doesn't fall down.... Works great and is strong, no fear of problems....

I wouldn't use anything else...

They are great straps. They hold like they say they will and allow you to keep the strap on your shoulder and not on your neck. I have most of these on most of my cameras and like them very much.

The other one that works in similar fashion is the Wapiti strap. That also works well.

Upstraps are highly recommended.

Neck and shoulder here.... Because of the REALLY nonslip feature, shoulder works very very well... Across the chest is more of a BLACK RAPID way to do it....

Been using the Upstrap about a year and a half I think on my MKIII; yeah it sticks, also it's very small and just isn't so bulky. But, when using something like a 100-400 on the MKIII, it's not real comfortable around the neck if you don't have a collared shirt or jacket on. But it sticks to your shoulder like crazy and is very small and light.

I've been using one for several years, the camera will not slide off your shoulder and I do not have to keep pulling it up. I love mine!

I just got an Upstrap last week and have been comparing it to the Luma Loop. I think I'm going to stick to the Upstrap. With my setup (1D Mark IV, 24-70/2.8, and a flash), it seems a bit heavy and unwieldy on the Luma Loop and feels more secure on the Upstrap.

Question for Upstrap users: how do people feel about the Ox Tri-glide sliders and keepers? With the original Canon strap, I wasn't worried about the sliders potentially scratching anything. However, the sliders on the Upstrap have a little bit more of an edge to it (not necessarily sharp), so the potential exists.

I had a concern that the metal keepers would damage the cameras. You can use their "rubber bands" around them to protect the camera. I don't and I have yet to have a camera scratched by one. I actually use my cameras and they get put through a LOT. So I really wouldn't worry about the metal parts on the strap. BTW I have 4 UPSTAPs.... Really awesome pieces of equipment......
