Can a G6 be used as a webcam?

You know, to chat with someone who has a web cam too. Is there software or first, can this be done?

not supported as a webcam by Canon.

Anything like that can be done, but why? The video out and USB out only show a representation of the LCD display. 118,000 pixels. And I agree, there appears to be no off the shelf way to do it. Web cams are cheap, and the cheapest is going to have more than 118,000 pixels. I've seen the question many times in the Powershot A forums and the answer is always the same.

You can connect it to video in on some video or tv card and then use the video card drivers and software to record it or use it as web cam
