No, it's practical photography. If it were rocket science they might do better at it

I am not sure I agree with those thoughts. I strongly think the 1Ds series is over priced from an IQ stand point. I just do not see a 5D being built to match or even nearly rival a 1D and THAT is what is not over priced.

Price? A few hundred $'s less than the 5DmkII. If they can do what they did with the 7D they surely can do it for the 5DmkIII.

don't bet the farm on this one.

I plan on making the 5Dc to 5DIII jump whenever it comes out provided the funds are in place. Either way it's going to be better than the 5DII.

I was just trying to find some info on the new 5D MK III and ran into this. I thought it was interesting. Just like the site says just rumors.

I agree with that rumor. I also don't see a point of having both 1D and 1Ds line. However, there is a big market crying for a 5D FF with 7D AF and speed. If Canon make this move, I think it will take back Nikon's ground.

Good lord Canon, take the 5D2, put a better performing sensor in it, add the same AF system as the 7D, feel free to keep 3FPS as dual digic 4's will only be able to keep up with that data rate (if the 5D3 takes on a similar pixel density), add flash commander and other features in the newer cameras. Sell the camera for under $3000, make massive money.

You'd think Canon would've figured that out already. ;)

Went to the local pro shop the other day and inquired as to whether there would be a deal coming out on Christmas/boxing day for the 5DMKII and was told no. A canon rep was there a couple of weeks ago and stated no more rebates as they have very limited stock and no more are being produced as the 5DMKIII was coming out in 2011. He tried to get more info as to when but couldn't get anything out of him except that you will be very pleased with the new model however it will be priced higher than when the MKII model was first released.

Let's hope that the next version is improved. :)

Just like how the 60D was better than the 50D in every possible way, huh?

I don't want to open a battle on the 60D, but it is worth pointing out that Canon does sometimes shift things around in the lineup to redefine categories.
