Ok I really wanted to throw a little Beatles into the day ;) But seriously. Yesterday I took this pic of my kids and I really like it just because it shows the nicer times (my daughter actually sharing) and I want to get it developed into a rather large print. I really want to know what you all think, if you have a different edit that would look good? Just pretty much have some fun with it and hopefully I can learn along the way!

I like the one SOOC, as the color's are richer and it looks more natural. I would adjust the tilt (rotate the image clock wise 1 or 2 degrees). Also try using the selective coloring in PS and add some green to the yellow channel to make the dead grass blend in a little better.

This is a very cute image, I do wish the twig they are playing with did not blend into the back ground so much, but I'm not sure what can be done about that.

First is far better, you tend to lean on the orange side when outside?
Just take the color slider and give it a LITTLE warmth, getting out of the magenta hue..

This is a great shot. Perhaps something in between the two. It may be my monitor, but the blue flowers in the background in the SOOC are like a needle to my eyes.

Thanks you all! Flo did you see the orange in the first one as well as the 2nd? I am wondering because I am thinking it may be 12 year old monitor that is the culprit and I am doing it while editing...

Joe those flowers are rather bright and there were masses of them! Thank you all for your input! I will have to work on this some hopefully tonight and repost!

If you are going to put in some sky like that, use some sky from a real photo so it does not look mechanical, and tone it down so it fits the image. Also blur the edge between the building and the sky so it does not look like you cut it out with a razor.

I like how you opened the shadows in their faces, but I agree with the color balance comment and that sky needs more work. I would also add some more blacks.
Very cute pic.

Ok... so this is what I did. Sharpened, Warmed it up a little, left the sky line alone (because I have no clue how to PP that) Added a little more blacks and left the vibrancy slider alone. What do you think? Any better?
