Just a couple from Cleveland Airshow 2010

First, let me say that I thought I'd nail this shoot being a sports shooter and all. Fast moving subjects? No problem, right? WOW was I wrong. I've seen airshows before but never tried to photograph one and it was far more challenging than I thought. Hats off to all of you here that post such awesome images from these shows, I'm more impressed than ever.

That said, here's a few shots from my "first" airshow. All done with a 1DMkII and 300 f2.8. All shots were either handheld or shot using a monopod (although I seemed to favor handholding just to stay with the "action"). Hope you like..

I love #2! But I'm not so thrilled with the sharpening halos around some of the others?

thanks and I know what you mean. that was a combo of two things...sucking at shooting this for the first time so I oversharpened just to make them "presentable" because my father in law wanted a couple of prints and I figured I'd get away with it. Probably a bad idea,huh? At least I shot RAW so I can always go back and redo...

Also love the 2nd. Looks like you were there on Sunday when the weather was decent.

thanks! yeah, it was decent (by Cleveland standards, awesome, lol!)
