3 Member Band: Shoot time + Digitals $$

This is for a local up-and-coming Worship band, and the lead singer is a former HS senior client from a couple years ago.

What would you charge them for this:

They need four or more photos. BASIC needs are:
-One group photo with a white background
-Individual shots with a white background

Their web designer finds it easier to manipulate photos with blank backgrounds, which is really the MAIN reason they need these photos taken. They don't need any material prints, just high resolution digitals.

They offered to do some advertising on their merch table, backdrop and websites to offset any costs.

Any thought on what to charge for studio time & digital files?...need answer ASAP!

Well, for your time and work (setting up all the equipment), I would say between $ 150 to $ 299. Why?
Well, you need to get the images to them raw. You still have ownership and obtain the rights.

I didn't factor in the studio or travel. You might want to increase this. You can also ask for credit on the use of each image. Last, you don't want to charge to high, they might run!

My hourly rate is $300 hour - yours prob differs ...
The trick is rights to reproduce - If they want to use for album cover thats a lot more than web.
My Album/CD covers rights can range from $1K additional to sky's limit.
A somewhat well know singer that sells a decent amount and wants Album/CD cover is typical $20K additional.
