Sorry if this question has been answered before, but I've look for the answer in serveral forums with no luck.

I have a 40D and have just upgraded to the 7D :)! I shoot mainly sports and fast action shots. I have used the function in the custom controls of metering+AF Start, center focus, and Al-Servo to meter and focus with pushing the * button on the 40D.

I see the 7D has the same button but I can't figure out were in the menu to change the settings that will allow me to focus/meter by using the * button. Right now I'm using the shutter button by pressing it half way, but I get a little trigger happy and taking shots that I don't want.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Bob

I used to use the * button on my 350D but the 7D has a dedicated AF button, you can set several of the button functions, it's all in the manual. Always better to seperate AF from metering and shooting I reckon.

Art that takes you there. http://www.artyman.co.uk (external link)

It's C.Fn IV - I
That's where you can map the controls for the 7D
