The Roaches are about 7 miles from where I live and I plan to take more shots of the area.

The city on the other hand, is about 5miles the opposite way. This shot is something that has been requested for a friend on a canvas.

In the first shot, only the foreground is in focus.
Use a tripod, f12, and a fairly wide angle lens. Focus about 1/3 of the way into the frame. Nice if you can use an incident meter.

nice shots - particularly the first. One suggestion is to level the horizon a bit.

The #1 scene appears in focus but looks like haze or mist in the distance that adds softness. Interesting scene.

Yeah, I could of sworn I had it in focus. F8 at 12mm, just passed the 3ft mark.

I think it is the haze, and now you mentioned the horizon...yeah it makes me feel sick looking at it wonky.

Cheers

I'm jealous of that orange sunset that you got. I've been looking for sunsets / sunrises for a while but it's been raining and been all gloomy - today was the first clear day, but then there were barely any clouds.
