The Late September Dogs

Went railfanning the last two days of the month, and as is my luck.....it was cloudy when I got to the nearest tracks.

I think this is the first time I've seen a separate horizontal & vertical blur in the same shot!

It made me wish I had a camera with ISO 50. Luckily this place is only about 45 minutes from my house, and I can sneak back when the weather gets better.

Interesting catch with that first shot....like Frank said....I don't think I've ever seen motion blur in two directions at once before. The right side of the image needs to come up just a tad....I think if you level the horizon to the lower support on the bridge, it won't be quite so confusing to the eye.

Second shot is nice!

It is an S shaped dam, with the side on the right of the picture extending further down river then that on the left side of the picture. There used to be a mill on the side that I am located on. Part of the ruins of it are still there with a viewing platform located above what is left of the old mill.

Trust me, I haven't beaten this shot into submission yet. I had about 10 minutes after I arrived before this train showed up.

And the first shot will always confuse the eye, due to having motion going in two directions.......but that is what I want........to convey that location as witnessed in real life..........the water and the train are moving.
