So whats some good lenses i could use? Im not looking to spend the money on L's id rather get 2 lenses for the price of a L then ill move up to the L's

Whats wrong with what you have if you don't mind me asking? Those both would work for what you like to do, portraits and kids.

I agree with Will, you can try getting a 70-200 if another lens is a must.

My thoughts as well

Just sounds like someone wants a new toy. :)

I'm interested in the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 VC. it is supposed to be a very sharp lens. I almost ordered one today but I'm kicking around a 17-40 f4L.

Canon 7D, Sigma BigmOS. various canon and sigma lenses, Speedlite 430EX ii, Promaster SystemPRO 2n tripod/Manfrotto Joystick Head. Delkin Compact Flash Cards.

1. What body do you have?

2. How much money you want to spend?

With a 5D, a great choice for portraits would be the 135mm 2.0. Also a great lens for shooting the kids playing or running around.

I want the 135L but for the price I can get to other primes. I think I should just wait it out till I get enough for the 135L. Or I could get the ziess 135 anyone use that lens. I've heard really good things about it and its the cheap version of the 135L
