Each time I go out and shoot a game w/ flash I feel like I am getting more comfortable and better with the flash. My shots are looking better each time, but I know I still have a lot of work to do.

I shot this game w/ flash in ETTL zoomed to 105 and I bounced back and forth between FEC +2/3 and +1 depending where I was on the field. I also shot all at f/4, 1/250ss, and moved the ISO between 800 and 1000.

As always C&C welcome because I am always striving to take better pictures.

#8 iso 1000, fec +2/3....This shot came out a bit over exposed w/ a glare on the face shield. No matter what i tried in PP this was the best I could get it.

well many of them are out of focus... so i guess i can only comment on those that are in focus

2, 5, 6 are all decent. 2 being the best. Id crop tighter. One thing I am noticing is youre cutting off limbs and feet. It would seem like you got lazy while worrying more about the flash.

Exposure wise is decent. 5-6 being under exposed. along with some of the out of focus ones. Some are also over exposed.

decent attempt Id say.

Have you tried f2.8 and FEC 2/3 or even 1/2? Some seem over-exposed and some got focus issues.

Yes a bit overexposed on some. Try pulling it back a bit in post.

Thank you for the comments...That's exactly what I'm looking for.

Yes a bit overexposed on some. Try pulling it back a bit in post.

The shot you brought down looks better than what I posted. I brought the exposure down when I processed it, but not far enough. That gives me a better idea of what to strive for.

well many of them are out of focus... so i guess i can only comment on those that are in focus

Dave, thanks for the critiques. When I originally posted I thought the shots looked OK and it was my lighting that was causing issues. Now that I look closer I see what you are talking about.

As far as limbs being cut off, sometimes I find because I am shooting in portrait if the action is closer to me that will happen. I have tried shooting landscape, but then I feel like the orientation is wrong and I am not happy with what I am getting.

Have you tried f2.8 and FEC 2/3 or even 1/2? Some seem over-exposed and some got focus issues.

I have not tried to drop my f/stop to 2.8. I feel like I get better images with higher f/stop. I will have to try it and see what I get.

Thank you all again for the comments. I have seen your photos and it is obvious you know what you are doing. Your advice is much appreciated.
