A few from Saturday's race. There are 3 domes that have botanical gardens inside.

1. This was the only angle where I could get a dome and rider's faces in the same shot. Tough with the dome and sky being almost the same color - the sky kept getting blown out.

2. One set of double barriers to cross. I don't think anybody rode over them on their bike, they had to get off, run over the barriers, then get back on the bike.

3. Next up was a double sand pit. Once through, turn around, and come back the other way. Some found it best to run ...

4. Some had the power to ride. Both of these sand pit riders are juniors (~15yo). I'm not really standing out in the middle of the course, I'm standing behind a steel pole and some riders found that route to be fastest which was fine by me!

5. Lots of small uphills and downhills with plenty of turns thrown in. Right here were I was standing, the crowd control fence got obliterated by a guy in the Pro race. He would have mowed me down!

6. Of course, there was one really steep hill that only the best climbers could ride up. Here is the eventual 3rd place rider in the Pro race - Mike Sherer.

I also shot a bunch of video. I'll post a link when I get that compiled and uploaded to YouTube. :D

I hope you take lots of pics of CX this season, since I have to live vicariously through your shots due to the lack of a 'cross scene here at college.

No worries, I will be! The problem is that Wisconsin has their races on Saturdays, and Illinois has theirs on Sundays. That's two full days of racing every week - too much! :D

Looking for my AV cable so I can do this video tomorrow.

Two days of racing a weekend is nothing! Three days in a row with a MTB endurance race on Sunday is much more fun. :)

Do you still live in Kansas City?
