Ds is Pro, 5D is semi pro IMHO "Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still."

I'ld like to compare them side by side. Probabely things like noise and color are much better on the 5D, since it's 2 (3?) generations younger. The 1Ds offers a pro body OTOH. Then again: do you need that? "I think the idea of art kills creativity" - Douglas Adams

And what makes you think the 5D needs less post-processing? There is too much speculation and no hard facts at the moment and comparisons are pure guesswork. The 1Ds MK-I is an outstanding camera and is only beaten by the MK-II. Even today a lot of what you see in top magazines is shot with the MK-I. Ken

The phrase was "more friendly", since, instead of having to set saturation, contrast and sharpening separately they gave it several more friendly "canned" combinations. So it'll be easier to figure out what will give you closer to what you want. Whether this will reduce the number of people who can't figure out the in-camera settings remains to be seen, but it's a big step toward "user-friendly" menu options. Doubtless, the critical users will continue to do it all in post-processing for all the usual reasons. Jon
