Not in my experience with the timer remote. It just sends out the fire shutter connection, not the half press connection. I dont have the half press set to AF though, so maybe thats why?

Well, if you don't have the camera set to focus on half-press of the shutter button, no remote release out there will AF. I don't recall if the TC will if you do have the default settings, but it certainly won't, whether you take one or 10000 shots, if you use some other method of setting focus.

Yep, thats what I was thinking just didnt wanna commit to truth since I hadnt validated that it does in fact work that way. Thanks for confirming though!

The TC-80N3 definitely activates the 'half press' or AF function on the camera. This can be bad for several reasons in time lapse. It can be 'fixed' by cutting one of the wires in the TC-80N3.

The 'half press' ocurrs well before the next exposure is due so often disables the histogram display which I like to see to confirm exposures are going the way I want.

Thanks everyone! My idea is to set up my third body on a tripod behind the alter at my weddings with the time lapse so I can get both angles. I needed to make sure it would focus because I never know exactly where they will be standing to preset a manual focus.
