In a recent thread I had asked a question about the use of wedding photos other than the B&G for whom I had a contract with for use of their photos. It turned out I had some misconceptions about my rights to use photos of others that had been in attendance. I got some good advice from pros in this forum and subsequently also did some searching around the internet to get some more information on when a model release is required. I found one site that the writer went into detail about model releases.

Since alot of new photographers that come to these forums are photographing people (and pets) and have aspirations of selling their images, would a "Sticky" be worthwhile that covers some of the business aspects of photography, in particular when a model release is needed, best ways to obtain one from groups of people, what a copyright does for me, etc. Some of this info can found in these forums using the search function, but always seems fragmented in content. I'm hoping someone here with a pro background and business savy can "step up to the plate" and educate us a bit on the subject. Also not sure if model release requirements are internationally uniform.
One last question.... If I post an image of a person in these forums strictly for critique on the technical aspects of the image, is a model release required for this ?
