Put it on a nice plate and light it well and it will make a huge difference. That makes sense - I was just using available light (not good lights) and thought fresh out of the oven would be good. Next time I'll definitely place food on a nice plate and see if I can improve my lighting - daytime cooking might help with some natural sunlight. I'm looking for harsh criticism of my photos - tell me how to improve, I will be grateful.
