Good ones. Interesting diminished amount of prop blur in #1 vs #s 2 & 3 with the same shutter speed. Does he take off at 1/4 power?

1, 2 and 3 are actually landing shots... ;)

#1 is using a fixed-pitch prop and the blur level will change with changes in power while 2 and 3 are "constant speed" props and they turn within a relatively narrow band of RPMs.

SOP for constant speed props is to move the lever to the "High RPM" position for landing in case you need to go around so prop blur will be greater despite actually being back on the power for landing.

Absolutely love #2. I wish that was me in there so I could order a large wall version to show off to my friends.

I'll sell you a digital file and you can Photochop the N number! ;)

Glad you like the effort.

FlyingPhotog is magical!

If that were the case, I'd be built like Arnold, have a super model for a wife (not that I don't...) and I'd have hit the Powerball a long time ago! :D

But thanks for the nice feedback...

I like the T-45 shots. Reminiscent of the old A-4, which is one of my favorite "little" aircraft.

Super Cubs (even Cub Crafters' Top Cubs) have fixed-pitch props. Very, very few Super Cubs out there have constant speed props. You'll be able to see a big difference when they do:

Super 18 Turbo Cub (external link)

Otherwise, you are correct. With a fixed pitch prop, there is a nearly direct relationship between power and RPM while with a constant speed there isn't such a strong/direct correlation.

Okay, now you are just showing off. That is probably the most perfect prop blur I have seen on this site.
