sound trigger

why isnt there a software based sound trigger for flash? it should be so easy to have this in your laptop......only thing to do buy a cable to send a signal from your pc to your flash.

?? anyone any idea where to get such software if it already exists?

I found one for mac here http://itunes.apple.co​m …-control/id362007742?mt​=8 so there probably is one for PC as well. Great idea and now I must download and test

sorry that wont work for me, i am trying to control my flash, not the camera as the shu8tter is open for long times anyways.

I need a trigger that can send a controlled delayed signal to my flash instead, as the flash is muchy faster then a shutter can be.

in case you wonder why i want this, its to improve on this sort of stuff:

Awesome shot. Using a speaker to bounce them? There is a DIY kit for $15 floating around on the net for a sound trigger for flash (or camera) that might help you. There are also cheap purchase alternatives. I did a bunch of research when I was doing some creative stuff and almost bought one that was $450 with laser triggers and the sound stuff but I know there are kits for very low amounts.

Thanks, I know there are very cheap alternatives yes but all look very shabby and I want something that will work when i need it to.

Its not that difficult to write such software but before it works it will need some hardware as well. I made such hardware that amplifies the sound and then triggers flash. I controll the delay by moving mic further away. Market for such SW/HW is very limited so maybe people just want to make own DIY for own needs.
