I set it up on a tri-pod and had VC on for a 10second exposure. The end result looked like I tried to take it without the pod. I turned VC off and it was crystal clear. Is this normal or do I need to get in contact with Tamron?

Most optical stabilization system assume there should be some movement so instead of stabilizing, it actually creates camera shake. I haven't seen any technical papers that say it is so, but using my tamron at the ice races last weekend, the VC worked very well with panning and I could visibly see it working only in one direction once I started moving the camera to follow the cars.
