Finally got a chance to use this lens during a model shoot...it was 80 degrees and beautiful here in South Florida!

I like the first, second the model looks far to nervous, I take it the light is behind her?

Nice shots.

So many of the pics in this thread look soft to me. But there are just enough sharp ones and this lens is cheap enough that I am thinking about it for a beach wedding I have coming in Belize. Can someone post something supersharp to sell me?

Other than weathersealing is there any other reason to buy the 70-200 f4 IS for non-professional mostly outdoor shots. From what I have read so far on this thread, AF speed is on-par and so is real world non pixel-ppng images. It would be my first telephoto and i am planning on buying a 100 f2.0 to take care of indoor stuff? I keep thinking that the f4 IS combined with high ISO capabilities of 7D should be enough for most of the average lighting indoor stuff.

Desire to learn; a camera & a few other things.

The f4 IS is optically superior and has better build but I guess you knew that. The canon f4 IS most importantly...has a constant aperture of f/4 unlike the Tamron.

The F4 aperture, Canon.

The price and better VC (along with warranty) on the Tamron were big for me.

The Tamron is smaller when retracted making it easier to transport, Id bet its also lighter.
