But there are just enough sharp ones and this lens is cheap enough that I am thinking about it for a beach wedding I have coming in Belize. Can someone post something supersharp to sell me? AcademicNomad Goldmember More info | Feb 05, 2011 18:58 | #338 Other than weathersealing is there any other reason to buy the 70-200 f4 IS for non-professional mostly outdoor shots. From what I have read so far on this thread, AF speed is on-par and so is real world non pixel-ppng images. It would be my first telephoto and i am planning on buying a 100 f2.0 to take care of indoor stuff? I keep thinking that the f4 IS combined with high ISO capabilities of 7D should be enough for most of the average lighting indoor stuff. Desire to learn; a camera & a few other things.

The f4 IS is optically superior and has better build but I guess you knew that. The canon f4 IS most importantly...has a constant aperture of f/4 unlike the Tamron.
