Wow Misty...that is a fantastic flower shot. What kind of flower is it?
Really love the mood....bw! That fine spider web is neat.

It's a Fuller's teasel. ;)

I have this lens and I am having problems with soft focus with my 60D. Tamron wants me to send the lens and the body to them. They think there may be an issue with the 60D and the 70-300....would you send your body to them.....I'm not comfortable with this.

What I would do is (depending on where you bought the lens) is try another lens on the 60D from your local shop. Even if you didn't buy it locally maybe the shop would let you try one to compare.

I would have no problems sending it in...just insure it, plus if they break something...they're insured. I'm sure they handle high buck equipment all the time. It would definitely give you peace of mind to know that there is indeed a problem with it.

I have all my camera gear insured and it's quite inexpensive for the peace of mind, that if anything happens to my gear, whether it's my fault or not, that it's covered.

Keep us posted...interested in the turnout.

i apologize for the subject, i just woke up from a 17hour shift from last night. (yeah, after buying this, went straight to work).
All pictures has no PP, just resized and saved as jpeg.

here is a pic taken at 300mm at f6.7 no TC

with a 1.4TC at 300mm -AF is at auto selection(im using a 7d) it only works with this AF on my 7d, and it will focus the object that is the one nearest or the one infront of you.

well manual of course works if you need to take a picture with a 1.4TC and the subject is not the object at the front :)

You can tape the exif pins on the TC and get AF on all points.

I've got the same lens+TC setup and the presence of the teleconverter is not reported to the body. In the photos mannix143 posted EXIFs don't show presence of the teleconverter either.

Then that's weird that the camera firmware wont' even activate any of the other AF modes.

I don't know about 7D, but with 50D AF'ing @ 420mm with max aperture of f/8 is a big pain, I just turn on 10x live view and use MF on the rare occasions when I do use the lens with a TC.
