Just got my Tamron yesterday (serial 039888); stepped outside for a few quick test shots with Canon 60D. No pp except resizing in PS. What do you guys think, sharpness OK?

Thanks Davivascaino. Looked fine to me; just wanted the reassurance of objective eyes. I appreciate your input.

Thanks, Whanner, appreciate your comment. BTW, I noted that you were earlier having problems with your Tammy paired with the 60D, the same body I'm using; have these issues been resolved? If so, what was done to either the lens or camera?

I'm still waiting on Tamron. They have had the lens and body since July 18. All they have said is they noticed the auto focus locked up... not sure if that's all the time or intermittent. Sure hope they figure it out. I know this lens is very capable if you get a good copy. Are you shooting RAW or jpg?

Anybody find any deals on one of these lately? My wife doesn't want to give mine back, so it looks like I need to buy a second one. LOL

I have a 60d and mine works great with my tamron/60d combo.

I'm quite liking this lens; it's a keeper for sure. It's bigger than I had thought, but well-built, and it handles nicely; the depth of the lens hood will make manipulating filters difficult. Here are a couple more shots. For testing purposes, I'm shooting jpegs, metadata included.

I think the compression needed to attach a picture is killing your pics, Jodelak. You'd be better off putting them on flickr and then embedding the image here.

Just ordered this lens, and it will hopefully be here on Monday. I'm excited about it, and all your great photos helped me to decide.

Looking forward to getting to know you all, and to sharing some great photos. Until now, I've been using (and loving) my 55-250mm IS, but it just doesn't have the range I want or need (thus me wanting to add a tele if need be), and that lens can't use a tele.

I must confess to being a bit spoiled now, as I recently rented a 300L IS and was trying to save up for that one, but I also need to be saving up to go on safari, so the L glass is going to be on hold for a long long time. This lens had a good price, and amazon has a $50 mail in rebate form too, which runs out on the 31st, so I had no time to waste.

:) Anne

I tried doing that before and I can't make it work (and being lazy ...). I'll try it next time :)
