I have known about 2 of them that have been around since I purchased the 20D new back in febuary, but within the last week or so, all of these popped up.

There are a few more than what are shown in the pic. Alot of them dont show up when converted to JPEG, but the raw file shows all, thus the screenshot.

What would cause all of these to pop up suddenly, and to get them mapped out/sensor replaced under warranty, how long does it usually take canon from the time I ship the camera to the time it arrives back at my house?

I cant be without my camera for long since I am taking photography classes in college.

BTW, that is at a low ISO... the higher the ISO the worse it gets....

FWIW, my 10D had one hot pixel when I got it, and two years later it still has the same hot pixel.. I would definitely return the camera for mapping... If your warranty expires after your course, you might as well limp along until after your course is over.. Hot pixels don't usually bother bright scenes and you can clone out any in dark ones..

I dont think I am going to worry about it right now though, since I just did an experiment, and only one stuck pixel shows up in .tiff's and jpegs.....

So it must only be visible in raw for some reason.

I am definitely going to send it in before the warranty expires though...

I just dont understand how they would all pop up within the last week. I dont beat up on my camera at all, and it is always kept in the case pictured below....

Got it from lowes for $15. It is made to carry power drills/etc. I went and got a peice of very dense foam for the bottom (the foam that came with it was too spongy, and let the camera move around inside the case)

It is kinda bulky, but it has saved my camera several times....

I have more stuff to go in it, but I havent cut out the holes yet....

Have you tried a different raw converter? Are your shutter speeds long?
