Very nice. Almost has a selective color thing going on. (that is a compliment BTW, I know most photographers don't like selective color and think it is overdone). Also like the deep focus, well done.

my guess is that they are reflections from overhead lights that are coming off a particular surface on the car and appear and disappear when the angle of the reflection is just right.

Yes...I did some minor HSL adjustments in Lightroom.
