Studio looks like a great wee bonus. We had our own QS through the other day to try and get a real world settlement out of the insurance company so have put the house hunting on hold for a few weeks, also Jnr is due this week so just trying to relax a little befoe then!

Good luck on the Settlement front, and even more on the Sancho Jr. project.

Probably not much, $1K.

and thats why I hand deliver and pick up

Peter at the time I was a gear head with too much money. A normal person dosnt go into a camera shop see a 12k camera gets out a credit card and then worrys how they will pay for it latter.

That ok I got my ass kicked when I did the same with a canon 600F4. Lasted a weekend and look it back. Way to big.

Ive made some dumb a$$ mistakes lost a sh1t load of money ...... I guess the ressision has been my friend. Helped me grow up.

Everything I buy now I have to justify that I need it rather than simply want it cause I can.

Unless you're photographing mud bathing hippos on the end of a slip and slide there's no need for all that weather sealing unless you're on a boat to the Arctic circle. Man I've seen people shoot all bloody day long in torrential downpours with nothing but a chammy leather over their 20D. And as for knocking it over, don't? Or if you do, that's what insurance is for. The thing you could have bought 5 times over with the money saved! ;)

Unless you're shooting 100,000's of images a year or are on the end of the slip and slide, the D3/D4 or 1D is just luxury no one needs and are just talking themselves into. They fall firmly, firmly inside the type of camera very few pros buy these days, too much investment for too little time on top. Mate of mine manages a big studio in Sydney, they have all the gear, the photographers just come in and rent it. Makes better money sense to them. They even bought D800's recently the threshold is so low for many...

lol love it! :)

Nah $2000 Mark V special

Cant wait to have my camera back clean. Save me a load of spot removal.
Planning on getting out more soon, once wife is off 12 hr shifts. Going back to 8hr ones and 1 weekend off a month.

Got to save a few pennys for trip in July down south. Really looking foward to that. If it wasnt for photography I would never have seen snow or the south island.

I watched an XU-1 go for $18.5k on TM yesterday, part of me wanted to bid on it, the other part thought it was worth quite a bit more (and ex Possum Bourne it was too)
shame really - niether happened.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Thanks guys! We dragged Aaron and Sarah all over the CBD for hours, but they did a fabulous job.
