BTW Auckland Museum has 2 photo exhibitions on right now - Wildlife Photographer of the Year and NZ Geographic Photographer of the Year. Definitely worth a look.

Here's a photo I shot a few weeks ago during the super moon. I have tried a few different processing approaches and still not happy. Any thoughts? Or is it just crap? :)

Couldnt afford the $300 "L-Bracket" so made a temp one. Has enough room for shutter release cable. Found trick is to make sure its level from left to right. Need to trim the bracket and paint black.
Only good for 17-40 and 50mm so far. Havnt tried with 70-200.

10 shot pano ....... cows moved and it got the PP treatment .... cant beat them join them :rolleyes:

Some times photos just dont turn out no matter what we do. Ive got a couple that I love the shot but cant get it to come to life. These are good for PP learning or testing photoshop filters.

Good to hear from you Lance.

Indeed, these are terrific.

The last thing I remember you posting was a quite intriguing posterior, thought that may have been the cause of your demise :rolleyes:

Tony:
I missed your call the other day, didn't get back home till late afternoon.

I have the following arrangement that you can have. I'm going to build something different, suitable for 360 degree pano's. Its a Kaidan QuickPan QPU-2. Call around any time to pick it up, the kids are on holiday, I'll leave it on my desk.

This is it, you can have it minus the indenting base; the dust is free. I've got a replacement bubble level for it somewhere.

It screws to the standard thread on the tripod or a baseplate;

This is it off the base;

Now, in other news.....

I have wiped my old photo processing software (Bibble Pro Raw convertor and PSP) from my computer & back-ups forcing me to use CS5 & Bridge. It's going to be a steep learning curve!!

A couple of reasons: I have the new software and as it has become the industry default, I should utilize it and its better capabilities rather than my original software.

Bibble has been bought by Coral and are no longer supporting Bibble as such, I don't like Coral's version that they released as a trial.

I was also starting to have issues with the 1Ds files in Bibble, possibly due to the age of the camera and not really supporting it anymore.

And finally, the PSP software has been buggy from the start, never really got colour management issues with it sorted despite numerous attempts with their on-line support.

So, its goodby to they old and hello learning curve!

Good luck.
Photoshop drove me totally bonkers at the beginning.
I think one of the main problems is that there are at least 3 ways to do anything. So if you have a problem and ask one person... they show you one solution. Then later you ask a someoneelse, and they show you a complete different way.
