Sometimes blunt honesty is the best, im man enought not to take offence but to take on board what was said and I did, my photography got a lot better.

He said it not to be mean but to help, it worked.

Wow, i've mellowed a heck of a lot since then. Glad it helped. I think I need the same talking to, along with a nudge in the correct direction. I just need someone better than me at what I do to help me advance.

A few photos from U2. What a show!

No SLRs allowed, but the Ixus 80 did OK on some shots.

So I take it Scott u had fun ;)

We had an amazing time! On thursday we queued up early and got in the inner cicle right next to the stage. While we were waiting for the show to start we attracted the attension of one of the roadies\stagemanagers who is my brother in-law's brother in-law and he came down and gave us "red zone" passes which gave us an even better view. :)

Last night we had the $40 tickets, seated behind the stage, Took the kids and they loved it. Nicola (6) danced and sang all night with the biggest smile you ever saw on her face. The $40 tickets were great. We had a good view, and if anything the sound was actually better up there than the red zone.

The stage "claw" has to be seen to be believed. The sound, light show, etc was outstanding, and an awesome performance on both nights. U2's tribute to the miners was touching. (they dedicated One Tree Hill to them on both nights! - see 5th photo above)

I know I am a big fan, but I have talked to numerous people of varying levels of fanness and all off them have raved about the show. bw!

Yeah. that'd be good! I personally just need to start using mine more than once every 3 months :( Need someone to drag me away from work and actually get out shooting!.

I'll back this up 100%!! I don't think we'll see the likes of that show in NZ for quite some time, and probably not until U2 come back.

Even Jay-Z who I'm not a fan of were pretty damn impressive.

I'm curious, why did you flickr-tag that as "not safe," Moppie? It's as tame as you can get.

(You did me a favor, though: now I know that I need to turn off Flickr's stupid filters, and I've done so.)

All I want is a 10-2000 f/0.5L with no distortion that weighs 100 grams, fits in my pocket, and costs $300. Is that too much to ask?

I shoot nudes as well, and upload out of lightroom.
Since I can't set the safety filter in the Lightroom API for each photo, I set it to not safe by default for every photo.
Then every so often I go through and use flickr to change the safe ones to safe.

The filters are annoying, but I can see why they have them given some of the content, and it's nice to have a photo hosting site that does allow nudes.
