Thanks guys. I'm hiring great photographers, I'll plan the day to make their job easy, tell them what I'm after from our photos, and I'll let them do their thing. I won't be able to completely turn off being a photographer, but with my fiance and friends all around should be fine.

Mark V and me did a spontaneous trip to Whatipu. Odd night in that the sky seemed to be filled with smoke, could have been from aussy fires.
Place hasn't changed much in 2 years. very dry. Got out to cutters rock which is meant to be a no no :)

Anyway couple of pics

The sunset last night was crazy... love the second photo there with the sun's rays... we saw it while driving home from the Waikato from a wedding.. I tried to get a shot out the window on the motorway with the 70-200 lol! :) the smoke drifting over from the west is definately making for some interesting skies

A bunch of Canon bits and pieces.

Was great to get out and have a walk, didn't do too well, out of practice

May need to send a couple of bits of gear in, 24-105 has noisy aperture blades and the sensor on the Mk3 seems to have a black spot issue (not sensor snot although there is a fair bit of that as well)

Be a good days trip. Best done in Feb when dry to get an idea of tracks before rains.

Perspectives... Lloyd would cost about $15K just to get here!

I can understand a warning, but where this sign is, no one is ever going to see it!
