A video card is only useful if:
The software he will be using can access a GPU
The card is supported by the software.
No good getting an AMD card if your going to use Premier Pro for example, and no need for a card at all if you're going to use Windows Movie maker.
The video editing software is
GoPro Studio And Corel Video Studio pro.
I have gone without the SSD and Graphics card at the moment.
Remember, this is a computer for my youngest son who is turning 14.
We'll see how it goes, and as said, can add components when and where we need them.
I upgraded the motherboard to one with the H97 chipset.
As a compromise for no SSD, we have the Hybrid disk, with built in SSD, which will help things a little.

I wouldn't have a computer without an SSD these days. Boot speed is not that important to me, but it just makes everything more snappy. A small SSD is pretty cheap, $100 maybe, you can get by with 60GB pretty easy, and 120GB very easily.
I threw the 256GB SSD in my computer recently, and it makes such a HUGE difference... Really worth the money and time spent on it. It was also surprisingly easy to install.
