My wife and I stayed a week in Wanaka two Christmas in a row. Plenty of walk to do around there, long and short. Lots of restaurants, mostly expensive, but some cheap eats too. We like.

Hey Fuzz,

No worries -- I can always go back to America, which, as we all know, is the greatest country in the world. Fact. ;) ;-)a ;-)a

I'm living in Germany & haven't been to Queenstown for ages, so can't help there.

I spent quite some time in Munich for work when I lived in London. Unfortunately got only a couple of hours to explore the city.

Are you following Stuck in Customs? (external link) Trey is an American living in New Zealand & does a lot of photography. Some interesting stuff.

Yes, I've been following him on and off for a while now. His review and sample shots of the Sony A7r prompted me to look into it as a replacement for my 5D2. Until I looked at the price of the Sony that is.

Agree that it is so very sharp!

Any POTNers in Canterbury get together to shoot anytime?

It has been a pretty poor snow season at Mt. Hutt so far, and I've been dreaming about skiing. I was almost always behind the lens, so these are of my friends...

Despite having a reputation in the mountain community as catering to the wealthy and not-very-good skiers, Vail has so much terrain, it's always easy to find untouched stashes after a storm.

Case in point -- even at 2pm on a weekend, we were able to find knee-deep snow.

This was one of our frequent hangout areas at Breckenridge. Unfortunately I never got a picture on a powder day here because it is so fun in deep snow -- too much fun to fiddle with a camera when fresh tracks are to be had.

Nothing better than a bluebird powder day.

Love the skiing photos. I know what you mean about good powder days having no photos. Been there done that.
Mid summer hee, so funny looking at snow.
