My wife and I stayed a week in Wanaka two Christmas in a row. Plenty of walk to do around there, long and short. Lots of restaurants, mostly expensive, but some cheap eats too. We like.

Fact. I'm living in Germany & haven't been to Queenstown for ages, so can't help there. I spent quite some time in Munich for work when I lived in London. Unfortunately got only a couple of hours to explore the city. Are you following Stuck in Customs? Yes, I've been following him on and off for a while now. His review and sample shots of the Sony A7r prompted me to look into it as a replacement for my 5D2. Until I looked at the price of the Sony that is. Case in point -- even at 2pm on a weekend, we were able to find knee-deep snow. IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/oizX2Z This was one of our frequent hangout areas at Breckenridge. Unfortunately I never got a picture on a powder day here because it is so fun in deep snow -- too much fun to fiddle with a camera when fresh tracks are to be had.
