Off on a 3 week tour of the South Island tomorrow!

Excited to see what you capture in our neck of the woods.

I'm off to Austria tonight.

Austria in the summer-time always looks so pretty...as if...the hills are alive with the sound of music (I've been told that only Americans get that reference!).

Was on my way to Arthur's Pass yesterday when the drive belt on my car snapped while on Highway 1. Managed to limp into a garage in Rakaia. While waiting for a replacement to arrive, I alternated between exploring the town and finding shelter from the passing hailstorm. Still got some interesting views. This is always my struggle -- to capture a normal/everyday scene. When there's a grand vista, I'm usually okay getting the "postcard" shot. But I have a hard time "seeing" a picture when there's nothing obvious standing out.

1. The storm was converging

^^^

I lived there for years, I never did get enough! Hmmmmm you could need chains in the Nth Island also!

another off topic I guess, many years ago when I traded my very troublesome iMac for a Pc I was derided by the iMac community and told it would crash on a daily basis etc. Well now it has happened, not on that Dell which proven to be super reliable on XP, but my HP last night refused to restart after an 8.1 upgrade and in desperation I hit the reset button by accident, not the refresh. Now I have lost 12 months of photos, all of my apps and drivers and also discovered that my back up drive... well wasn't.

Not a happy chappy and Xtra or is it Spark won't give me another copy of antivirus in it's package, it just keeps telling me I am registered but wont give me a downoad button.

Love those pictures. Like the processing too. A nice bit of grungieness to them. Fits well.
Austria was great. I didn't hear the sound of music, but close enough.
Did a bit of mountainbiking & relaxing.

Not many photos though.
