weka2000, dont know what cars she likes, but just got the wife a 2008 mazda 3 (the import version) and its actually a really cool little car!
have only had it from just after Christmas, so far no problems (fingers crossed it stays that way) but it drives well and seems good on gas :D

I came up to the Auckland zoo. the Hamilton one is OK but it's got less than the Auckland Zoo but despite that it's still a nice zoo to walk around.

I did find that 105mm on the long end is rather short. I need a zoom lens. would like the new 100-400 but I might end up going with the 70-300 L. it's just a lot of money to spend for something that wouldn't be getting that much use.

Well after my post she came home noticed a wet patch on drive when she opened gates, went and had a look .....OIL. Popped the bonnet and noticed oily water all over the place, trouble was wasn't engine oil, instead automatic transmission oil, something's popped and transmission oil is all through out the coolant system. 1999 Mazda 6 256000km on clock so not worth fixing.

Test drove Mazda 2 (said it was tinny) Then a Rav4 ( I said it was to big for round town) off to look at 2009 Mazda 3 2.3 S latter

We have always had Mazda's

Typical pay off a bank loan then have to get another one :)

Oil cooler section of radiator has given way. As long as water isn't in transmission, new/recon radiator?

Has water on dip stick and same condition as what's in radiator so I would say water has got in to Auto

It's been a while, so hello to all those who used to regularly blurb with me. Been manic working on various (mainly video-based) projects.

Came back to the forums today and had to find my way around the new set up (oh the excitement!).

I have shamelessly PM'ed you Tony and Mark V (after not having seen you guys for ages). I'm currently grovelling for some help with a shoot on the 22nd Feb at the Paeroa Street races.

So, my next point.

PLEA FOR HELP...... (I know, pretty crap of me after having not posted here for a while)

22ND FEB, PAEROA BATTLE OF THE STREETS VIDEO SHOOT

If anyone else here might be able to help, please do contact me via PM (or just say so here). It's video work but anyone who has even half an eye for composition will do a more than adequate job. A lot of the shots required are 'detail' shots (think of rack focus shots, pans, zooms, slider movement etc, crowd shots, riders in the pits, riders interacting with officials, officials at work, etc, etc, etc). I'm more than happy to cover the basics of the types of shots I'll be requiring if you're unsure of anything.

I am supplying two Canon XA10 cameras (they are small but do a reasonable job) so you don't have to bring your own gear. But if you wanted to bring your own DSLR and grab video on that, I have no issues with that at all.

I am not being paid for this as it's part of a bigger project I am (currently) self funding, but I will cover food and fuel costs (it's a one-day event). I will warn you that it does start very early. I have a planned time-lapse sequence that starts around 2 or 3am on race day, and then I'll be following the workers as they piece the track together up until the track officially opens around 7:30 am.

OK, so that's my plea over. If you can help, I will love you forever.... If not, no problem.

Thanks all. And sorry again for not posting for ages, only to ask for a favour when I do post....

Cliff

Hi Cliff, Hows life?
Doing any BMX ing?

If you are covering fuel costs, then I figure if I leave now And have a co-driver so we can drive 24 x 7 I might be able to make it by the 22nd. Will have to ferry from Singapore to Indonesia, then Indonesia Australia, and Australia New Zealand.
Hmm, Might have to break a dew speed limits.

Anyway, have fun and good luck with your project.

I haven't been doing that much photography recently.
Over the last couple of months I have been building longboards with my boys. At least I have occasionally made the effort to photograph those.

Here are a few of our creations.

There were our first two boards.
