Quick question for the kiwis hiding in here :P
I have a sigma 10-20mm f3.5, few years old. I have bought a 6D and its not really that useful on it and the wife isn't interested in using it.

So Im thinking of putting it on trademe, i see them new on there for $799 and no second hand ones.
What would be a reasonable price to sell it for or is it just not worth selling it, hence no second hand ones on there?

I'm be renting one for a few jobs, but will need customers with bigger budgets before I buy one.

I'd start off with an auction with start = reserve of around $575 and see how it goes, none on the market could mean yours is in demand (or it could mean no-one wants them!)

spend a bit of time & get some really good product shots of it, I find a good photo gets a better response.

I would love one, but now that I have discovered how to do panos, I no longer see the need, my 17 to 40L will suffice.

I did all things my internet research said not to do. Hand held, 17 to 40L, set on a/v and I had been 'tuning' my camera and pressed the 'reset' button but forgot that it would also make the camera shoot in jpgs, hence the clouds are a little over exposed. As you know I rent Photoshop/Lightroom (I rarely use Lightroom, most of my processing is done ACR).

I could have done a little tweeking I guess but I used the jpgs straight off the cam in photoshop/automate/pho​tomerge.

I also used MicroSoft ICE with equally good results and it is free.

I went to the photoshop after using ICE because I would have liked to be able to move the individual images around myself, but it appears it is all available only in auto?

No 1 is 2 shots, no 2 is 5 shots I think, and no3 is a single shot only resized off the camera.

Thankyou Mr Smurff Sir Nchant has modified a 10 to 22 to use on the 6d not sure what brand it is.

I would like to have a play with one. I'm not to sure what the need is for something like this. Just because it's a 11mm doesn't mean it's just for landscapes and for architecture the distortion that comes out at at wide I would have thought was unusable. But then I don't know everything. But ever since I got the 6D, the 17-40 has been of little use. I find for most of what I shoot (and so far it's been nothing this year) that 24 is wide enough. Even thought of getting rid of the 24-105 and getting a 24-70 F2.8. (the canon is way out of my league)

I suspect it is one of those watchamacallit lenses that does not distort like the fisheyes do, hence the price.

I actually rather like the 17-40 which I bought because the price of (my pref) the 16-35. The lens I feel I made a mistake with is the 100-400, I feel I should have gone for 70-200 (the cheaper non is version) and a 2x extender.

Well I think I may need a 100-400 at some point in the future. I would like to do a cruse to the top of earth and then another one to the bottom. Since I can only each 105mm that's not going to be long enough.

But while saying that I am not looking at buying at the moment.

If you haven't used it that much you could always put it on trademe

The original 100-400 is my main lens - and for anything where you want reach to me it's a good all round lens. I've had mine almost 6 years now - and with the MkII available I'm probably going to upgrade - it's worth that to me, especially since the Mk II takes the 1.4x tele-converter well by all reports. MkI definitely doesnt.

Consider the Sigma 50-500 as well - it's very good for the $$ (my girlfriend has one). it does need a little more light than Mk I, and a bit slower at focusing, she's getting a better keeper rate than I am at the longer ranges.

Of course it helps I'm earning USD, which takes the sting out of the pricing of the MkII.
