just remember that when that camera was first released, the iphone was a year old.

but honestly if the camera still works then no point in upgrading.

Hasnt failed in 6 years wont fail for another 4 at least. Hasnt even done 70,000 clicks yet.

Recently (somewhere else) had someone ask what to upgrade his D300 too. It was sat in a cupboard, didnt have any lenses. I kinda questioned the need for an upgrade...

Went well, couldn't have picked a better time to do it. Not stinking hot (would absolutely hate to do that in the peak of summer).

We camped at Mangatepopo Hut overnight after the trek and it was quite reasonable there as well, got cloud cover and rain overnight which kept the temperature up just above freezing. Unfortunately no good for star trails.

a couple of interesting things to come from that video, at 24 it seems to be sharper than the 24-70 F2.8 mk2 at the same aperture. Even tho he's a street shooter the lens seems to be quite good at the corners.

Any expatriates from America? Wondering how traveling to NZ and working here would work out as an American. Dream job would be to shoot weddings year round in America for summer and NZ or something South for winter. Is that even a thing? How is the wedding industry down there? Is it seasonal like it is in the states? How do work visas work? *brain explodes*

Weddings are seasonal but they do tend to go from early spring through to autumn, and even in winter, plenty mountain weddings in snow season etc.

market to me seems pretty saturated with togs already but if you can make an impression you will get the work.

If you dont have rights to work in NZ check out the immigration website, it wont be easy for repeatable temporary work I think.


The 11-24 looks great but not sure I need that wide in one frame that often, without filters.

Yeah I heard that it's just one temporary work visit only. I'll have to check that out then. Thanks for the info. We get weddings all year around, it's just that the highest paid ones are in peak season of summer. Is this the case in NZ as well? And double-checking, your summer is our winter, and vice-versa, right?

Yeah seasons are reversed.

Not sure about cost of weddings, I dont tend to shoot them. Just know a few people who do.
