I have had it since the 24-105 first came out and it's been a good lenses but a bit soft these days. Apart from Canon, does anyone know where else one can take the lenses too? Thanks

Thanks Mark Vuleta wrote in post #17944068 In the past, what would you folks think when I mentioned "Canon Service"? Well, credit where credit is due..... My 24-105 started playing up at a function on Saturday night, Error 01. lens communication error and the aperture blades wouldn't always return to fully open. Intermittent but got progressively worse. I took it into Canon yesterday afternoon (Monday) and got an email this afternoon saying it is ready and cheaper than they estimated! 24hr turn around on a repair! Replaced diaphragm assy and key guides, replace the rear mount seal. Outstanding. I have given them a lashing in the past for poor service (quite a few years ago) but this was outstanding. Well done Canon. Image hosted by forum (846004) © Mark Vuleta [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.

MarkVuleta Goldmember More info | It's just a charge to cover their initial inspection costs. If you don't go ahead with the repair, they are not out of pocket. If you go ahead, it forms part or all of the labour charge.
