=scotttnz;18652142 It’s funny how we view our own work differently. I was recently contacted by Panasonic to ask if they could use one of my Instagram photos on their website. I liked the photo enough to post it on Instagram, but I don’t think it is one of my best. It made me wonder why they picked that photo over all the ones that I like much more?
Remember I said you will always find someone who likes or admires your photo?
, that is a prime example. They may have chosen it because it is current trending, current fashion ad infinitum, but ultimately because they like it in the context they want.
On subject, you need to know in your mind what the subject is. My rainbow is a bit wide, some wide landscapes are spot on correct, but for viewing on internet, not so good because it becomes too small to make impact.
So a wide view of a river estury, a warship, a waka close up are all good, but a wide view of Auckland City from Devonport Wharf does not work so well unless there is a context ie narrative , description, tourist brochure etc.
We all have our own styles (I am talking about us as a group). There is nothing wrong with that, nor is it to be sneered at. I actually am not that keen on being another Brian Matiash.
