Agree'd, a little cool, what time of the day was it?

I've just booked my ferry tickets for my South Island Road trip. Across to Picton early on the 28th and back across to Wellington early on the 11th Jan.

Quite surprised that the ticket prices were fairly reasonable.

I like it too, I don't mind it being a little cool. (blue cast) It makes feel like it was cold.

of course unless you want it to be warming feeling.

Little confusing as to what the subject is - the rock in the foreground, or the rocks to the right, or the island in the background?
to me seems technically well photographed, but asks "what was your reason to take that particular shot?"

bah, what do I know.... I look at mine above and wanted to show the endless lines of deaths recorded by crosses, and the dark cross shadows.

Cheers guys, one thing I was aware of last weekend was great scenes doesn't translate into a great photo. Having trouble getting inspired these days.

no idea really - far, far too many though.

spent a frustrating hour at Ardmore this morning, some awesome aircraft out & about and some very bland lighting topped off with the new "operational area" fencing that puts a thousand and one obsticles between photog & shot. Managed to get off a few that are better-than-nothing shots but a lot of crappage too. I'd like to go to the open day in a few weeks time but I am committed elsewhere :-(

Depends on when your ferry crossing is. Kaikora is ok but fairly limited access available in a large camper van.
Forgotten Highway, National Park and then loop back down through to Wairoru via the Desert Road.
I hope it has more power than the one I had to drive back from Wellington. Oversized body on underpower Mercedes chassis. Horrible thing to drive.

I have looked at the Forgotten Highway a number of times, for a little trip and explore. Is it as good as advertised?
