Its not like I don't have the gear and experience .... its comming up with something fresh and new that people want.
Just ask them and then supply it. People are always happy to tell what they want, even if it is nothing.
I think you are sort of having a problem with definition, you need to define what you feel you need to improve in your fotos then work on that. Taking it to the next level, moving up a bar etc are not good enough, there is no definition there.
Selling pics, where are you showing them and who to? I don't know of any people who would buy pictures to get on the computer and and look for "Pictures I Like". A few advertisers perhaps buying stock photos for cents.
Printing a book is good, people get to hold it in their hands, it is tangible, it is evidence of the finished foto, not just something on the internet that may turn out as good in a finished product.
Define what you want to work in. Is it fine art? Define that area for yourself then go mad researching and practicing.
pretend you are working with film. Film is expensive so you get one shot to get it right. I have made a living years ago out of candid night photography at dances resturants meetings etc. We sold a colour print, mounted, postcard size, pay now and get a money back guarantee that your photo will arrive with in a fortnite and you will like it. We will refund even if you just don't like the shot. In 12 months I had 2 refunds, and this was Auckland. Just so as not to confuse, this was film, not digital.
Looking at sales of final prints, there is a series of 'Interior Design' shops in Auckland. What about approaching their buyers with quality large size landscape prints they can resell as part of their stock? I don't believe the average person looks at pictures on the net other than to fill in time.
In all honesty I'm not sure a new camera is going to solve your blues either.
Dunno if this will break the thread again or make people mad. And, yeah, DO stop complaining and DO start doing constructively.
