Big cameras have got a little bit smaller with mirrorless, but you will need a small mortgage for native glass! Lots of secondhand EF around given people switching systems.
Smaller cameras isn’t really a good thing, especially if the lenses are bigger like most of the RF ones seem to be. There’s a reason my current camera is one of the largest m4/3 cameras available, larger than a lot of full frame mirrorless. The G9 has the best ergonomics for me of any camera I’ve ever used.
To me the R6 makes sense if you have a bunch of EF glass to use with it, but it is to expensive for a camera with “only” 20MP if you don’t have EF glass and are reluctant to put money into non-native lenses. The limited range of RF lenses currently available means that when I priced out a simple 4 lens kit it costs twice as much as the competition.
On paper I like the Sony A7iii, and the huge range of reasonably priced and sized native lenses, but the ergonomics are a big step backwards from my G9.
Perhaps I am biased, because I really like the look of Panasonic full frame cameras. Currently you can get an S5, S1, or even the 47MP S1R with a high quality 24-105 f4 for around the price of an R6 body only, but of course they come with their own set of compromises.
Anyway enough GAS fuelled rambling from me. I haven’t found that goldilocks camera yet.

Those camera that we can use as phones can be nothing short of brilliant. I was not deriding them. Be gentle and constructive with your critque, most ill be pleased you are interested enough in them to take offence. U R welcome to critigue my little flower shot a few days ago.

Well, since you asked.....
I didn’t think it was your best work Chris. I thought the dandelion, if that was the subject was too small in the frame, and it lacked punch.
