I like the grain. :)

I think what is bugging me about it is that it is a modern looking car, but the processing looks kinda old school black and white, so subconciously, it just conflicts. To me anyway.

But I think I like it.

Scarey. 8.8 is massive, lucky it was 125km off shore. If it was 5km from the city like the Christchurch quake it would be devastating.

I studied the auckland volcanic field in 7th form. Auckland's volcanoes are gentle as they are a result of gaseous magma bubbles - ie not the explosive volcanoes you find on a fault line. The magma bubbles are created by material dragged under by one tectonic plate submerging under another.

In other words, we'll have plenty of warning in Auckland as the volcanoes here are not sudden events due to earth movements.

Auckland's volcanic field is similar to those in hawaii.

Laughable really.

That said, I do know the government's response systems have been very heavily worked over with Chch, my department at work has been continually asking for volunteers to man admin and catering rolls in the bunker since the earthquake, and IT as a whole have been incredibly stretched.

If they issue a tsunami warning I really wouldn't be surprised to get called back into work, there's noone left as backups currently, even if it is just doing mundane stuff to make the important things happen. It's a real long shot but I wouldn't be shocked.

Thoughts out to all those in Japan. :(

Cheers, Dave.

That is very scary looking. Checked out the CNN videos & was pretty shocked!
Amazing that a tsunami can travel at 800 KMH!

If you where surfing on it you would need goggles against the wind!

I hope New Zealand is still there when I arrive on Sunday.

Has any body decided where the BBQ will be in 2 weeks.
I think that Sarah & Aaron hosted at least the last BBQ, so maybe Scott can have a turn... Unless someone organizes a photo model for a shoot in the studio.

Look forward to meeting you guys soon.
