After 22 inches of rain last week, the Cape Fear River still covers Battleship park at high tide. When I left, the road was covered and water still rising.

Nice shot. Amazing what rain will do. I was stationed on the CGC Northwind in Wilmington in the early 80's and remember the battleship and the park well.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming....."WOW, WHAT A RIDE".
