other polygon shapes for PS selections?

I'm familiar with the rectangular and elliptical marquee tools for making selections in photoshop. Is it possible to make other regular polygon shapes like a diamond or triangle like the marquee tool does with ellipses and rectangles by just clicking and dragging? If not what is the best way to make those shaped selections so they are symmetrical and not just free hand drawing with something like the polygon lasso?

Use the polygon tool to make a vector shape. Choose the number of sides in the window in the toolbar at top (3, 4, 5, whatever). Right click on the vector path and convert to a selection.
