Decided to get the camera local.

Should I pay the extra $100 AU for a 5 year warranty? Or save the money and get a larger CF card?

It comes with a 12month warranty as it is...

What's everyones thoughts?

I always like as much warranty as I can get, who's the warranty through ? I thought alot about this when I bought my 350D's but the only one on offer at a fair price was a Mack one. Can't say good or bad about them but have heard what others said and didn't bother in the end.

If you you keep the camera longer than a year it may be a good idea, esp. if the warranty is transferable to a new owner should you sell. That would add value. Read the T&C's. Personally, I doubt I'd keep a DSLR for longer than a year because of depreciation.

Darned if you do or darned if you don't. That is a hard call. If it was a washer or dryer I would say, since those tend to last more than 5 years or so.
