I was exited to goto the air show Saturday with my 1DMIV and my 500mm. Except I forgot to remove my Canon extender 1.4x II. I had no clue it was on until I got home that night and it was a mostly crappy grey day. (Not so great for a TC)
So I shot the whole thing @ 700mm.

A few picks
uncropped
f/5.6 1/1250 sec ISO 100 500mm + 1.4x II extender = 700mm

1/1250 for a shot with a prop plane is a tad too fast...but u probably already know that ;-)a

They look OK to me. Look on the bright side; You didn't leave the underwater housing on? ;)

You noob!!! he wanted the 2.0X tele converter on there :p

you could read the dials then :D

I like the shots, I dont see a problem with how they fill up the frame

I have half an airplane in most pictures. Took a big contrast hit because of the TC.

Would have liked to have seen more prop blur in the first, but otherwise I think they look good!

BTW, "I messed up" still gets the point across and doesn't break any forum rules. ;)

Nice shots. I'll take "messed up" for shots like that.

What would be the optimal shutter speed for the prop blur while still photographing a jet @ 500mph?
