When I was about 13 or 14 my Dad was heavily into RC Areomodelling, the field that we used to fly from was next to the A13 main road out of London just where the suburbs finish. One Sunday we were flying when we had to ground all our ships as the BBMF Lancaster decided that it would use our field as its orbit point flying round us at about 500' for about 20 mins. They even started waving back at us while they flew round us. This would have been while the Hurricane and Spitfire were doing their solo shows. It turned out that they were performing at a local "county fair" type event about 10 miles away in Dagenham.
Of course even if I had had the camera with me I would not have had any film, as I used to have to save my pocket money up to buy film for the Air-shows that we would attend.
