Does it work? If it does, how can I improve it?

Paul, is it me or is the seaweed etc OOF? Just find it hard to focus on it.If you can revisit this one, I think you could have a beautiful photo.

you're a great friend, but if Zombies chase us, I am tripping you.

I agree about the seaweed, plus it looks a bit flat to me. Also, maybe crop the picture at the horizon...

I don't think the seaweed is OOF, it looks like it's just the water swirling around them that's blurred.

I thought I'd see if I could pull a little color out of your scene. I hope you don't mind. The horizon also appeared to be higher on both the right and left so I did a little straightening there too.

If this is a "before sunrise" shot it was obviously taken with pretty long exposure. That accounts for the "blur" especially in the water and the still moving seaweed (exposure according EXIF is over 3 seconds)
BTW: did you switch your IS OFF while taking this shot on a tripod?

I think it is a nice shot. But there is not a single hint that this was a "before sunrise" shot..... Shame you did not get just one tiny ray of real sunlight peeping in...

Navydoc, I like your adjustment.
Henk, I WISH there was a little ray, but it was cloudy at the horizon, and by the time the sun did poke through, it was already 25-30° high in the sky! I think IS was off, but if it wasn't it would account for some loss of definition.

cheers, Paul
