Back up battery on G11

Hi, I have a G11, and i have to set date and time. every time i turn camera on,
For some reason the camera, will not hold details at all.

Hope some one can help, with out taking camera back to shop.

The camera is only 5 months old.

The camera's internal battery is charged using the main battery. This I would assume to be a lithium ion battery. If you normally leave the main battery out of the camera, this may deplete the internal battery. Try placing a fully charged main battery in for a day or so and see if you still have this issue. As with all lithium ion batteries, leaving the battery without charge for long periods of time may cause the voltage to fall below the safety voltage, this kills lithium ion batteries.
