At the park with my best friend's son Peyton... We weren't really planning to take pics because it was mid afternoon and the sun was harsh, but there was some decent shade so I decided break out the camera and give it a try. Let me know what you think, I'd love to get some C&C.

Brian and thran- the first two were shot with my tamron 28-75 and all the rest were with the canon 50/1.4.

Wow, very nice. The 1.4 wide open? The face in #3 seems underexposed to me.
By the way, what kind of pp is that? I always find it interesting but don't know how to do it.

The face skin color doesn't look quite natural to me. I think the camera's WB has been thrown off by the bright sunshine areas elsewhere in the pictures.

Very nice nontheless.

My imagine composition sucks. I need a heavier lens.

colormaniac- good call on #3. I'll try to do something to fix that it before I print, thanks for catching that... and yeah, all the 50/1.4 shots were wide open. As for the PP, I just played around with curves until I got the look I wanted and then applied the same adjustments to each one more or less so they would look consistent.

u0pt- thanks, yeah I kept WB on the shade setting and of course not everything in the frame was in the shade so that did give me a little trouble in PP.
