Personal favorite coolest/most invaluable accessory. Hyperdrive Colorspace UDMA. Great for event photography, keep shooting after all your memory cards are full. (They have a newer version now, mine is the original).

Backs up the cards very fast to free up your full cards for continued shooting. CF and SD.

I use that all the time. Have used it for the past 5 years. Excellent, bulletproof device. Even cheaper when you buy the shell and add your own 2.5" HD.

None of us want to lose any photos, so I doubly back them up. I use a lightweight ASUS laptop and the Colorspace. Lightroom will allow you to import photos to the PC and to the Colorspace at the same time from an SD or CF card.

The value is in buying the empty case and inserting your own laptop HD of whatever size you need. Very simple to do. All the device is, is a bit of pre-installed firmware, the metal case and the HD.

Typhotog could you help the elderly (me) and provide direct links to the shell and a sample hard drive to plug into it? I'd appreciate it :)

I can't be sure this is the exact model he shows, but here it is at B&H with a 160G HD already to go. ($340)

Just the shell is here ($250)

A 1TB HD to install is here ($70)

I'd probably spring for an SSD, which is of course more expensive, 250G($125)

Yes, this is the shell case that I have. I think the idea of an SSD is excellent, as this will be used as a travel device. However, the main danger to the platters in the drive is during use, not storage or travel, so my decision was to go with a standard 2.5" drive. And you can't beat the price of a TB for $70.

THe drive is simple to install. These photos are from an older Hyperdrive, but the innards are the same with the Colorspace. The first shows the case opened and flipped screen down. On the Colorspace, this is done by removing the Phillips screws holding the back cover on.

You then just follow the big arrow and direct the contacts end on the drive in that direction, rescrew the cover and you're done. Shown here with the 2.5" drive in place.

Just purchased this replacement Canon white lens hood for my EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM lens. It's the JJC LH-83C and the price was $13.79 delivered from Amazon. It's a pretty close match to the original Canon white of the lens.

I was a Fenix fan until I found Vizeri on Amazon. This light works off three AAA batteries, easily replacable, and throws a beam to 300 feet, stronger than my Fenix LD22. In addition, it has a focusable beam from spot to flood. Read about the improvement in wiring compared to other similarly priced lights.

I bought one to check it out. Now, I have one at home, one in my go bag, and one on my photo utililty belt. Extremely well built, bulletproof. You will need a small steel split O ring for a lanyard.

Check here (external link) on Amazon.

What can I say? Lights are the focus this month. This is a battery pack for a Speedlite. Eight AA batteries give you 600-800 shots at one second recharge intervals. If you've ever had problems with rapid sequential shots working only half the time because the light was recharging in between will appreciate this. It performs as advertised. Has Cordura case for belt or pack. Your Speedlite has a side port fot this pack, and a Custom setting that lets the 4 batteries in the light perform the LED functions on the light, while the battery pack does all the work of charging.

It looks well made and is worth the $45 that I paid for it during a one day special on B&H. Normally almost $80, still much less than Canon's version. Good to sign up for B&H's one day sales.

I use two of these... They work great

Nikon D850 and a bunch of stuff, I have learned a lot here when I was shooting Canon, staying to keep learning..."Every time I set up I learn something new".

That is one of the most clever pieces of engineering I've ever seen.

Great piece of DIY. Does it dramatically increase the power of the Speedlite, or just the spread?
