Hello, first post.

I have a canon s90, and I realize it is too much camera for me. It was a gift, and I love it. So far auto mode has given me more than the results I had hoped from a camera.

I have begun taking photo's in my class (surgical technology), florescent lighting, and I have tried that mode on the camera. I am posting 2 pictures almost the same, but with different results using auto. It seems very hit or miss if I can get the type of photo in the second picture, where as many times I keep getting the first picture with a hint of yellow in it.

So I was hoping someone can point me in the right direction, I am willing to put in the leg work and do the reading, but all the terminology is slightly overwhelming.

I appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Not having used this camera, and just googling it now, I really think you have to READ the manual, and get onto some forums that will allow you to learn about the bells and whistles..the are subforums here to help with powershots.
This is totally out of focus.......
Good luck.:D

thanks, yeah the focus thing is ok, I knew I wasn't keeping them, and I wanted them just to try to figure out what I was doing wrong.

In class we pass these instruments around, and I try not to hold on to them too long, so I have limited time.
